The two days 1 night Chobe camping safari is a great budget safari experience, The Chobe camping safari is a fantastic way to explore the Chobe River and Chobe National Park’s topography, flora and fauna. You will explore the reserve and see its wildlife on a series of morning and evening game drives in an open safari vehicle, with an experienced guide from Big Sam Hubber. We will explore the wildlife of Chobe on a riverboat and our 4 x 4 game drive vehicles. In-between these game drives you’ll have time to relax and take in the tranquil outdoors. During your safari, you’ll also be treated to the fabulous food and service that is a hallmark of Kasane.

Weather and Seasons:

October – April (Rainy Season)

Daytime temperatures average around 30°C. The highest rainfall months are between November and February, though rainfall tends to come in short, sharp bursts and then the skies clear. The days can be hot and humid but the nights are beautifully balmy. During the rainy season the park’s vegetation is particularly lush, green and pretty. This is the best time for birders, and for rich photographic contrasts.

May to September (Dry Season)

The winter months in Kasane are dry and cool, with crisp clear blue skies. Night temperatures can sometimes drop to 2°C so be sure to bring warm clothes. Day temperatures average a comfortable 23°C. This is the best time for big game viewing, with animals being forced to move around in search of the scarce water supplies

​Day 1

Upon your arrival at the Airport you will be met by our guide, to assist with your luggage, your guide will invite you on your pickup vehicle heading to our offices to complete the formalities and ready yourself for the safari tour.

0930hrs – 1230hrs starts your first safari of the day, a 3hr boat cruise along the Chobe river. This section is famous for its huge herds of elephant which can be viewed up - close safely from the boat, hippos, crocodiles. A truly fantastic way to spend the morning, cruising the river.

1230hrs time for a tasty lunch served on your boat in the river banks of Chobe river. 1

330hrs after lunch, enjoy a relaxing afternoon game drive in the Chobe National park, where once again you have the opportunity to enjoy the abundance of wildlife as you explore Chobe River Front...the game drive will continue until the park closure, then you will drive to your beautiful campsite in the park.

After your drive, you’ll go to your camping site where Big Sam staff will be there to welcome you with refreshments. You will have time to freshen up and then at 19:00 hrs eat a fabulous and hearty 3 course bush meal prepared in open fires, all under the stars to conclude your day. We do cater for special dietary requirements.

Day 2:

Full day in the Chobe National Park (all meals included)

Today you will rise at the crack of dawn (05:30hrs) to have tea or coffee and a light breakfast, before boarding the land cruise for your early morning game drive before the sun rises. The cooler morning temperatures mean that the game in the reserve is often more active, and the softer light makes for great images.

1100hrs you will come back to the camp to have a tasty brunch meal and relax in the camp, After at least one more sumptuous meal, you’ll head out on your afternoon game drive, which will continue until park closure, then your day will invariably end with a good dinner and some reminiscing about the day’s sightings around a warm campfire.

Day 3:

Today will be another early start. You’ll eat breakfast and make your way back to Kasane where you will then be transferred to the specifics of your departure point to fly home or continue on your travels elsewhere.
